A magnificent Golden Elm and discreet area of lawn to the west of the house provide a cool oasis during summer. The veggie garden is protected by a semicircular brick wall, providing a formal courtyard feel, and the pool is similarly protected from southerly winds by a rectangular extension of the wall. Surrounding the house and these garden areas is an extensive gravel garden that takes in mature trees and a range of plantings. Two large mulched garden beds make use of the recycled household wastewater. Beyond this the garden extends to naturalised wetlands and olive grove with beautiful views to the surrounding countryside.
