Garden Guide

HARTLEY VALLEY GARDEN TRAIL AND PLANT FAIR

Usually takes place in the last weekend of October, but please stay tuned for dates.

Five fabulous and colourful gardens all located in the beautiful Hartley Valley

The brainchild of Horticulturist, ...

The Views

Hartvale is nestled under Mount York with stunning cliff face views to the East and gorgeous views over the valley to Mount Clarence to the North. It is a constantly changing view due to cloud formations and the various seasons.

Colourful Gardens

These gardens are best from October through to late April. Poppies - that reappear like friends every year- combine with lavender, pink opium poppies and irises. Autumn is a beautifully colourful time when Dahlias, penstemons and Salvias take centre stage.

Art Studio & Garden

Nestled in the garden is the art studio where artworks by Jennifer Edwards are often for sale along with cards and prints.

Hothouse

The hothouse is used to grow broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower in Winter, tomatoes in Spring and Summer, and to raise the seeds for the Potager garden (zuccinni, cucumbers, corn and tomatoes) for Spring planting.

'Hartvale Cottage'

Nestled within the five acre grounds of Hartvale Gardens, is Hartvale Cottage - a luxury get-away for two adults. This charming barn-style cottage features a massive picture window framing gorgeous mountain and valley vistas and two lovely verandas on which to relax with a cup of tea.
The living room has a combustion wood fire, comfy chairs, smart TV, & reverse cycle aircon, there is a full, eat in kitchen, sumptuous King sized bed, and a bathroom with soaker bath. For bookings or more information please call Jennifer on 0404 531 555.

Visited this beautiful garden in the last weekend of February, it was such a delightful garden to wander in and is a real credit to its creators. You can definitely see the artist hand at work in the placement of the plants and how the gardens related to the buildings. Another highlight was the fantastic artwork. The garden looks so established it is amazing to hear that it is only three years old. Definitely worth a visit

A lovely drive from Sydney on a Sunday and what a delight it was to see this new garden in Little Hartley. There was so much to see around every corner and the views were breathtaking. Colour was everywhere and a real delight and the owners building talents were outstanding and added extra charm. I look forward to visiting this garden again and seeing it grow and change.
