Garden Guide

Wildwood is the creation of plant & garden enthusiast Wayne & Sue Tapping. They began this garden more than 30 years ago & also opened a retail nursery at nearby North Richmond. The Nursery closed in 2010, allowing the couple to pursue their dream ...

Autumn at Wildwood Garden is a feast for the eyes with many fully grown trees & shrubs showing a spectacular range of colours from vivid oranges, yellows & pinks to crimson, reds, golds & spotted with everything in between - they are complimented by the many perennials & Camellia sasanqua in full bloom at this time of the year.

Rose beds are alive with huge blooms along with Autumn flowering bulbs - water lily lay above the water lazily showing the beautiful flowers tended by the dragon flies.

Seeds set above the plants like highly prized jewels - they are there in abundance during this time of the year.

Perennial flower attract many butterflies & birds to the garden with bees too!

Their is nothing better in a child's mind (or even an adult for that matter) than to kick the autumn leaves about or just go on an adventure collecting fallen leaves along the way.

Groups are welcome here too with a wide range of facilities & food we them a great deal & a fantastic day out.

Join us here through Autumn - 2018 - we would love your company.

Visitor Comments

My concern only relates to accessibility because of slope. Garden itself is a marvel. I recently visited this lovely garden with my 90 year old mother. Sadly nothing that I read about the garden prepared us for the extreme slope of the property. My husband and I, much younger and fitter than mum found it a bit treacherous in places. We left Mum at the waterfall while we explored further. We would love to see Wildwood in the spring but won't take Mum and if we return, will wear sturdier shoes.

A beautiful garden set in a lovely cool climate area. Well worth a visit, plenty to look at and the owners have gone to great lengths to put up very helpful signage, not only in relation to the type of plants in a particular area, but also advising of sloping ground, water etc, very impressive.
