Campbell Rhododendron Gardens ( Diane - Please Login for full access)

This unique garden in Blackheath is one of the Blue Mountains' most favourite venues, where azaleas and rhododendrons are planted amongst the native bushland. The Gardens are picturesque and beautiful all year round. Rhododendron blooms are at their spectacular best in spring, especially between late-September and mid-November. For 2023 Welcome Weeks are from 30 Sept to 5 Nov, when our meeting Lodge becomes the Rhodo Tea Room from Thursdays to Sundays, 10am-3.30pm.

Regular Opening Times

The Entrance Gates to the car park are opened 9:00am all year round, and locked at 6:00pm spring & summer, and 4:00pm autumn & winter. However, visitors are welcome to stroll through the Gardens seven days a week throughout the year. If the Gates are locked, park outside, on the right hand side, and walk in through the pedestrian access.

We have installed a fountain in a rocky glen in the area to the right of the lake. It's a work-in-progress as plants need to grow, but this is a favourite site for wedding parties and it will be lovely in Spring.  More Info »

Your Wedding - Our Garden

The Campbell Rhododendron Garden provides a marvellous backdrop for your wedding photos. The Gardens are at their most photogenic in spring, which is the peak-flowering season for brilliantly colourful rododendrons and azaleas, or in autumn, under the gorgeous changing leaves of the deciduous trees.
There are six ideal locations which can accommodate from 10 up to 60 guests. All information...a map and photos of the sites, plus a booking form and calendar...can be found on our website.  More Info »

The Lookout Platform

The Lookout is an accessible platform...to the left, in front of the Gardens' Lodge...jutting out over native shrubs and ferns, and providing a stunning vista across the valley and the Lake.
Access is along a smooth, gently-sloping path from the car park and Information Kiosk. It's not difficult for those using assisted-walking aids and wheelchairs.  More Info »

Visitor Comments

was actually there yesterday. Called in briefly after Iris Show in Blackheath Community Hall. There was quite a heavy mist in the area which tended to give the gardens an eerie look. some lovely native flowers including red, yellow and white waratahs. a lot of the kurume azaleas were just coming out and unless knocked out with petal blight should look lovely over the coming week.
