Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens

The botanic garden is a community funded project being developed on a 15 hectare site since 2015. Since then we have developed parts of the garden according to our concept plan to reflect the seasons. It's early days for the botanic gardens so we hold our very popular plant sales and annual open gardens event to raise awareness and funds for the garden.

Autumn Garden Weekend & Plant Fair April 2024

The annual Autumn Garden Open Gardens and Plant Fair weekend returns. This year is a very special event as we will be opening the entire historic 'Oldbury Farm' estate as our open garden. Not only is there the historic garden surrounding the 1826 sandstone residence but in addition two large contemporary gardens, a 3ha arboretum and the historic farm with its many kilometres of Layed Hawthorn hedges and mature native and deciduous trees . The Plant Fair will be at the SHBG as usual.  More Info »

Nursery now open

Open every Tues and Thurs 9am to 5pm Saturday 9am to 1pm.
As all the plants for sale have been propagated from those growing in local gardens, we know that they will survive in your garden. The stock is an ever-evolving range and each week the volunteers tend to them under the watchful eye of professional horticulturists.
Feel free to browse and there is always a friendly face around to advise on the right kind of plant for that special corner in your garden.  More Info »
