Sundays at Cruden Farm

Once a month on a Sunday, Cruden Farm welcomes people to take a tour or just come for the day and have a leisurely stroll around the gardens and farm. The property was left by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch for people to enjoy and consists of wondrous manicured gardens and peaceful walking areas, set amongst interesting bushland around the lake and the lagoon. The sights and scents at Cruden Farm alter dramatically throughout the seasons and there are many rare and old plants and trees to be discovered. You can pre-book a detailed garden tour or just bring a picnic and wander through Cruden Farm between 10.00am and 4.00pm on a Sunday opening. (Pre-paid Garden Entry + Guided Tour $35.00 pp, or Garden Entry $20.00 pp).  More Info »

A wonderful garden to visit - I especially love the old walled gardens, the huge old trees screening the house in the big turning circle, and the curving drive with its lemon-scented gums - all originally the work of noted landscape designer Edna Walling around 1930.

This website prompted me to fulfill a long standing desire to visit Cruden Farm on a trip to Melbourne in January 2017. It was a real pleasure to spend time strolling through the beautiful and peaceful surrounds of this significant family estate. Highly recommended. Alida
